Antique Medical Blood Letting Fleam

A nice antique Blood Letting Fleam with nicely marked horn handle by Joseph Rodgers & Sons, a renowned firm of cutlers and silversmiths, traced its origins back to 1682, with Joseph Rodgers himself first producing silverware. They were based in Sheffield, England, and rose to prominence, especially in the late 19th century. Initially specializing in pen and pocket knives, they later expanded to include razors, table knives, and scissors. By 1800, the firm was well-established at 6 Norfolk Street, Sheffield, and they were appointed cutlers to the Royal family around 1821
